Refund Policy

If a piece isn't right, we'd rather fix it than have it sit in your drawer. Here is exactly how returns work at Bare Muse, wherever you are shopping from.

Last updated 31 August 2026

01

The return window

You have 14 days from receiving the last item in your order to tell us you'd like to return it, based on the delivery date shown in your tracking information. No reason needed. This applies in every country we ship to.

Once you've told us, the item must be shipped back to us within a further 14 days. After that window closes, only faulty or incorrect items are covered.

02

Condition of returned items

We accept returns of unworn clothing only. To be eligible, the item must arrive back with:

  • All original tags still attached
  • The clear garment packaging bearing the SKU label
  • No signs of wear, washing, make-up, perfume or pet hair

Please try pieces on over your own underwear. You are welcome to handle and try on a piece as you would in a shop; we may reduce a refund only where handling goes beyond that and diminishes the value of the goods. For hygiene reasons, items returned without their SKU packaging or tags cannot be accepted and will be sent back to you.

03

How to start a return

Send us a message through the contact form with your order number, the item you'd like to return and a short note on why. Photos help us improve the fit for everyone. A clear statement by email is enough. You do not need to use any particular form.

We'll reply with the return address and instructions. Please do not send anything back before your request is approved. Unannounced parcels cannot be traced to your order and cannot be refunded.

Return shipping is arranged and paid by you unless the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If you are returning from outside Europe, please budget for international postage before you send — it can be a meaningful share of the item's value, and we recommend a tracked service. We can't be responsible for parcels lost on the way back.

04

Refunds

Once your return arrives and passes inspection, we approve the refund within 3 business days, and in any case no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back. The amount goes back to your original payment method, in the currency you paid in; your bank or card issuer typically takes a further 5–10 business days to display it.

We refund the standard delivery cost you originally paid. If you chose a faster or more expensive delivery option, we refund the standard rate. Where a piece was bought as part of a multi-buy bundle and you return only part of it, the remaining items are re-priced at their normal individual price and the difference is deducted from your refund. Any import duty or tax you paid to your own customs authority is not refundable by us; you may be able to reclaim it directly from them.

05

Faulty or incorrect items

If something arrives damaged, defective or simply isn't what you ordered, write to us with photos as soon as you notice. We'll replace it or refund you in full, including shipping, at no cost to you. This applies beyond the 14-day window and does not affect your statutory rights.

06

Exchanges

The fastest way to change a size or colour is to return the original piece for a refund and place a new order, so your size doesn't sell out while your parcel is in transit. If you'd prefer a direct exchange, tell us and we'll do our best.

07

Your right to cancel

United Kingdom. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason, and return them within 14 days of telling us. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back. Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

European Union. If you are a consumer in the EU you have the same statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. To exercise it, send us a clear statement within the 14-day period, then return the goods within 14 days of that notice. Sealed hygiene items that have been unsealed after delivery are excluded, in line with EU consumer law.

United States, Canada and Australia. There is no equivalent statutory cooling-off right for online purchases in these countries, but our own 14-day return policy above applies to you in exactly the same way, and nothing here limits the consumer guarantees you have under your local law — including the Australian Consumer Law, which entitles you to a remedy where goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose.

Shipping Policy

Free delivery once your order passes your country's threshold. Here is what happens between checkout and your doorstep.

Last updated 31 August 2026

01

Where we ship & what it costs

We currently ship to all countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. Each store prices in its own currency and has its own free-shipping threshold. Below it, a flat rate is added at checkout.

European UnionFree over €45, otherwise €4.95United KingdomFree over £40, otherwise £4.95United StatesFree over $55, otherwise $5.95CanadaFree over CA$75, otherwise CA$7.95AustraliaFree over AU$75, otherwise AU$7.95

The threshold is measured on your order value after any discounts have been applied and before delivery is added. Two pieces clear the threshold in every country, so a two-piece order always ships free. The total you pay, including any delivery charge, is always shown in full before you confirm your order.

02

Delivery times

Standard shipping arrives in 5–15 business days from the day you order, in every country we serve.

These are estimates, not guarantees. Carrier backlogs, customs checks and peak seasons can add a few days.

03

Tracking your order

You'll receive an order confirmation email straight after checkout, and a separate email with your tracking link once your parcel is on its way.

Tracking numbers usually take a couple of days to show their first scan, and it is normal for a parcel to stay quiet for a stretch while it moves between carriers. Neither means anything is wrong.

If your tracking still shows no movement after 10 days, get in touch with your order number and we'll chase it up for you.

04

Customs, duties & import taxes

The price you see on the store is the price you pay us, and it includes any sales tax or VAT we are required to charge on the sale. Customs is separate, and is not something we collect.

Our parcels travel internationally, so depending on your country and the value of your order, your parcel may attract import duty, import VAT, GST or a carrier handling fee on arrival. These charges are set by the destination country's customs authority, are outside our control, and are payable by the recipient. This applies to the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia alike — the thresholds and rates simply differ.

If you are unsure what applies where you live, your national customs authority publishes the current rules. If a parcel is refused at delivery and returns to us, we refund the goods minus any carrier or customs charges incurred.

05

Addresses, delays & lost parcels

Please check your address carefully at checkout. We can amend it only before dispatch, so message us straight away and we'll try. Parcels returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address can be resent at your cost.

If a parcel is marked delivered but you can't find it, check with neighbours and your building's reception first, then contact us within 7 days so we can open a claim with the carrier.

06

Delivery charges on returns

Any delivery charge you paid is refunded only where the return is due to a fault on our side: a faulty, damaged or incorrect item. Return postage is otherwise arranged and paid by you, including from outside Europe. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Bare Muse when you browse this store or place an order.

Last updated 31 August 2026

01

Who we are

This store is operated by Bare Muse, registered at Coimbra, 3030-509, Portugal. Throughout the site, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Bare Muse. By visiting our site or purchasing from us, you agree to the terms set out below.

02

Using this store

You must be at least 18, or of legal age in your place of residence, to place an order. You agree not to use our products or site for any unlawful purpose, to breach any regulation in your jurisdiction, or to transmit malicious code or attempt to interfere with the site's operation.

We may refuse service to anyone, for any lawful reason, at any time.

03

Products, sizing & colour

We photograph every piece as faithfully as we can, but screens vary and colours may differ slightly from what you see. Measurements in our fit guide are given in centimetres and allow for a small tolerance, as knitted fabrics stretch. Products are offered subject to availability and may be limited or discontinued at any time.

04

Orders, pricing & payment

Prices are shown in the currency of the store you are shopping on — euro, pound sterling, US dollar, Canadian dollar or Australian dollar — and include any sales tax or VAT we are required to charge on the sale. The total price, including any delivery charge, is shown in full before you confirm your order. We never add mandatory fees later in checkout.

Prices do not include import duty or tax charged by your own country's customs authority on arrival, which we do not collect and cannot control. See our Shipping Policy. We reserve the right to correct pricing or description errors and to cancel any order placed at an incorrect price, refunding you in full.

Your order is an offer to buy; the contract is formed when we confirm dispatch. Payments are processed by our payment providers through Shopify Checkout, and we never store your full card details.

05

Promotions & reference prices

Multi-buy offers, such as our two- and three-piece bundles, apply while stocks last, cannot be combined with other discounts unless stated, and may be withdrawn at any time. Where part of a bundle is returned, the remaining items are re-priced at their normal individual price.

Where we show a higher crossed-out price alongside a current price, that higher price is the price at which we have genuinely offered the item, and we will say so honestly. We do not use invented reference prices.

06

Returns

Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

07

Intellectual property

The Bare Muse name, logo, photography, product designs and site content belong to us and may not be reproduced, resold or used commercially without written permission. Comments, reviews and photographs you submit may be used by us to promote the brand, without obligation or compensation.

08

Liability

Our products are garments, not medical devices, and make no therapeutic claim. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the value of the goods purchased. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury or fraud, nor limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

09

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which Bare Muse is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your own country of residence. Wherever you are, you keep the benefit of your national consumer law and may bring proceedings in your local courts where your law allows it — including consumers in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States, Canada and Australia.

We may update these terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. The date above shows when it last changed.

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we need it, and the control you keep over it.

Last updated 31 August 2026

01

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number and order details. Payment is handled by our providers; we receive confirmation of payment, never your full card number.

When you browse, we automatically receive your device and browser information, IP address, and how you move through the site.

02

Why we use it

  • To process orders, take payment and deliver your parcel
  • To answer your questions and handle returns
  • To send marketing emails, only where you have opted in
  • To detect fraud and keep the store secure
  • To understand what works on the site and improve it
03

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, with Shopify (our store platform), our payment providers, our shipping carriers and fulfilment partners, and our email and analytics tools. We never sell your personal data for money. Some partners may process data outside your own country, including outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

04

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart, remember your preferences and measure how the store performs. Essential cookies are always on; analytics and marketing cookies run only with your consent, which you can change at any time in your browser or through our cookie banner.

05

Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us to stop sending you marketing. Send your request through the contact form and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union you may additionally object to or restrict how we use your data, withdraw consent, and receive a copy in a portable format. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or your national authority in the EU.

If you are in California, you may request access to and deletion of your personal information and opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising, which you can do on our Your Privacy Choices page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. If you are in Canada or Australia, you have equivalent access and correction rights under PIPEDA and the Privacy Act 1988 respectively, and may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in your country.

06

Keeping it safe

Our store runs over an encrypted connection and payments follow PCI-DSS standards. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and marketing data until you unsubscribe. No system is perfect, but we treat your details with the care we would want for our own.
